Despite sitting out 16 games this season with a sprained MCL, RJ Jones was named 2024 SIAA Player of the Year.
Jones led The Rock in scoring this season with 16.6 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game.
He shot 57.5% from the field and an amazing 50% from 3-point range.
Since Jones returned to the line-up January 13th, The Lions are 15-1, including an SIAA State Championship.
The senior forward was instrumental in the The Rock’s’ championship victory over DME Academy, helping lead the Lions overcome a 13-point deficit to win 58-47.
Last season (2022-23), Jones was named 1st Team All-SIAA.
Jones has signed with Virginia Tech University to play basketball for the Hokies next season.
